Greetings from Sydney, Australia!
The last time I was here was two weeks ago today to meet up with my parents. Unfortunately, they had to head back to the real world last night and are on a flight to Chicago as I type. When I last wrote, we were getting ready to go on a four wheel drive tour of Fraser Island followed by a sailing trip in the Whitsundays. Both were absolutely fantastic experiences and I'm so glad I could share them with my parents. I'm also happy that my parents had the opportunity to dive the Great Barrier Reef; it's one of my favorite memories of Australia, and it'll be nice to reminisce with people who truly understand its beauty.
Thanks for everything, mom and dad! It was a trip of a lifetime.
My fun doesn't stop just yet, though. As I write, my other half is on his way to Australia for his vacation. I haven't seen Vince in over three months (by far the longest we've been separated) and I couldn't be more than ready to see him. Only one more sleep till I get to pick him up from the airport!
Once he gets here, we'll spend a few days in Sydney. Then we'll fly to Tasmania, the island underneath Australia. We'll spend a week there and I can't wait. Compared to the rest of Australia, it'll be pretty cool (in the 60s) but I think we'll both appreciate it knowing how cold it's been back home. From there, we head to New Zealand for a week. As much as I LOVE Australia, I'm looking forward to visiting another country!
Then, after that, it's time for me to go home. No more Australian adventures for me. GASP.
It's too hard to think about, so I'm not going to just yet. I still have two weeks to enjoy myself!
Thanks for reading!
